Established in 2023 from a rundown shed, The Backyard Nursery emerged with a clear purpose: to provide high-quality plants and professional landscaping services to the greater Victoria, BC area.
With Tyler taking full ownership of the business in 2024, he broadened our focus to include regular lawn & garden maintenance. Further enhancing the range of services we provide.

Co-Founder & Owner
Everyone knew I was an entrepreneur when I was 10 years old, you would find me in the evenings mowing lawns, shoveling driveways and helping neighbours out with miscellaneous projects .
In 2020 I graduated from the Forest Technology program at NAIT and worked in the forestry industry for 1 year gaining experience with plants, small engine equipment and most of all problem solving in the middle of nowhere.
But in 2021 it was time for a change which lead me to move to Victoria, BC. I began gaining experience landscaping with a local company and after having worked on hundreds of properties and learned as much as I could, it was time to grow and pursue a bigger dream. Which lead me to start The Backyard Nursery.
